About 32% of adults are now fully vaccinated, the agency said.

Half of Americans over 18 have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine, according to data released Sunday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
There were nearly 130 million adults in the country who received a single shot, or about 50.4% of the population over 18, the agency reported.

At least 83.9 million adults, or about 32.5% of the adult population, were fully vaccinated on Sunday, the CDC said.

The data comes as more states open their eligibility to all residents over 16.

It also comes as states suspend their administrations of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which is the subject of research by the Food and Drug Administration and the CDC on rare cases of blood clots.

As of Sunday, more than 209 million doses of the vaccine have been administered nationwide, according to CDC data. At least 109 million doses of Pfizer have been administered, 92 million doses of Moderna and 7.9 million doses of Johnson & Johnson, according to the CDC.

Health officials and leaders are urging all eligible Americans to schedule their vaccines as soon as possible, in order to reduce the number of cases and curb the spread of the virus.
