Chelsea or Real? PSG or Man City? Ferdinand and Owen disagree on Champions League finalists

Chelsea Manager Thomas Tuchel chats with the media after the Champions League quarter-final second leg match between Chelsea FC and FC Porto at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on April 13, 2021 in Seville, Spain. Sports stadiums in Spain remain under strict restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic, as government social distancing laws ban fans inside venues, resulting in closed-door matches.

The Champions League semi-finals are scheduled, with Real Madrid, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City reserving all of their places in the bottom four this week.

Real Madrid ended Liverpool’s hopes of winning the title on Wednesday with a 3-1 win on aggregate and will face Chelsea in form of Thomas Tuchel.

Chelsea had beaten Porto 2-1 on aggregate on Tuesday night, with PSG knocking out Bayern Munich on away goals the same night after a 3-3 draw of two matches.

Manchester City joined them in the other semi-final after beating Borussia Dortmund 4-2 on aggregate, fighting back with a goal to win 2-1 on Wednesday night thanks to goals from Riyad Mahrez and Phil Foden.

This is the second time in the past three seasons that there have been two Premier League representatives among the semi-finalists, with Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur facing each other in the 2018-19 final.

Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Michael Owen is confident that City and Chelsea will advance to the final, following in the footsteps of Spurs and Liverpool.

But Rio Ferdinand, the former United center-half, disagrees and believes neither will advance to the final!

“I went for an all-English final, he thinks otherwise,” Owen told BT Sport.

Ferdinand said the couple had a ‘bottle of wine’ bet on who would and added: ‘I’m going to Paris Saint-Germain vs Real Madrid.’
