The key La Liga game on Sunday is the clash at Estadio Benito Villamarin. Top-of-the-list Atletico Madrid are hesitant in the title race and suffered a 1-0 loss to Sevilla last week, a loss that saw Real Madrid and Barcelona close the gap.

They could be out of the top spot by the time the kickoff arrives and Atletico appear to be in another nervous 90 minutes as they revisit the same city, this time to face Real Betis. Diego Simeone’s men have had a lot of trouble on the road lately, winning just one of their last four league starts.

Real Betis, meanwhile, have been outstanding at home, having won five of their last six home games and won’t be afraid to keep that good record against their rivals today. Looks like it’s going to be a close, low scoring game.

Nine of Atletico Madrid’s last ten games in all competitions have produced under 2.5 goals, while five of Real Betis’ last six league games have also netted under three goals. Given the current form at home and away, a Draw look at the most likely outcome here.

The late clash in Ligue 1 comes from Parc Olympique Lyonnais where Lyon will try to keep their title and their Champions League ambitions on track against mid-table Angers. Lyon are currently in fourth place in the table, eight points behind leaders Lille after a 1-1 draw at Lens last week, leaving their title hopes hanging by a thread.

Lyon’s defensive woes have been their weakness all season and although they have a great recent record against their rivals today, the value of this game lies in supporting Lyon to win and both teams to score. . Lyon have had no problem scoring goals lately, they have scored in their last 14 games but have only kept one clean sheet in their last 10 games.

Angers has had a decent season and is comfortably seated in the middle of the table. Their last game saw them progress to the Coupe de France with a 1-0 victory at Sedan and they are able to expose Lyon’s weaknesses here.

Both teams have scored in four of the last six games between these teams and that’s a trend that I expect to continue in this game. So while the home team should prove to be too strong, the visitors should come back to the net as Lyon wins with both teams scoring.
