More than a year after the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, more than 11,500 people in Shasta County have tested positive for the virus.

Health officials reported an additional death in the county on Monday after a man in his 60s died from the virus, bringing the death toll from the infection to 214.

Meanwhile, 30 more cases of the coronavirus were discovered on Friday and Saturday, according to Shasta County Health and Social Services.

Shasta County remains in the red level of the state’s plan for a safer economy, as of the state’s last update on April 6. The red level is the second most restrictive of the four levels.

Second Dose Vaccination Clinic at Shasta College

County health officials on Monday announced a second dose clinic for those who received a first dose of Pfizer at Shasta College on March 26.

The clinic is scheduled to take place at the college on Friday. Officials have asked people to come at the same time they come for their first dose and bring their CDC vaccination cards.

  • Tests in the last 14 days (positive and negative): 7789
