Vast swathes of the West Midlands have now removed Covid-19 within days of reopening shops and pubs.
There are 1,280 neighborhoods across Birmingham, the Black Country, Solihull and South Staffordshire where no coronavirus cases have been recorded in the last seven-day period.

The news comes as more than two million people have now received their first dose of the life-saving Covid vaccine in the West Midlands since the start of the world’s largest vaccination program, official figures show.

A whopping 422,600 people in Birmingham were stung at least once from December 8, 2020 until March 28 this year, the NHS has revealed.

More than half a million people in Black County – across Sandwell, Dudley, Walsall and Wolverhampton – have also received their life-saving dose.

Huge numbers are also being reported in Tamworth, Lichfield, Solihull and large parts of Worcestershire as the battle to contain the deadly virus continues.
