Zidane in Odegaard deal as Arsenal transfer hopes clear

Arsenal’s chances of securing Martin Odegaard a permanent contract this summer have taken a step back amid claims the Norwegian has a clear career path in mind.
The 22-year-old has found his marks with the Gunners in recent weeks. After scoring a goalscorer against Olympiacos, he was then on target against Tottenham in the derby. Since, Odegaard proved to be the key man as Arsenal fought back 3-0 to draw West Ham. Excellent in the No 10 role, the Norwegian achieved a 93% success rate and created four chances.

Odegaard’s display was comfortably his best in a Arsenal shirt and Gunners fans have called for a permanent deal.

The Norwegian is only on loan at Arsenal at the moment. Their deal prospects took a step back on Monday when the huge exit clause that exists in his deal has been revealed.

Odegaard, however, raised hopes that he could be drawn to Arsenal on a permanent basis. It was after that he spoke warmly about Arteta and also named the two things he needed to make the move long term.

However, according to Mark, Odegaard sees his long-term future at parent club Real Madrid very well. They claim the Norwegian only left after being frustrated at not being able to show his talents at the Bernabeu. He had suffered from a knee injury in the first half of the season and the loan to Arsenal is purely meant to get him back to his top form.

The article claims Zinedine Zidane is very much on board with Odegaard’s goal, with the Frenchman believing the loan has helped Odegaard regain his confidence.

In a last blow, Mark writes that Odegaard is “still determined” to succeed with Los Blancos, while his club have “no intention” to sell.

In addition, they claim that Zidane and other powerful voices at the Bernabeu see Odegaard as “fundamental” to their future.
