But Gareth Bale and his colleagues are set to take on the star-studded World Cup holders as they prepare for the final.

It would create an intriguing clash between loaner Real Madrid and one of their main transfer targets at Kylian Mbappe.

Wales already have a farewell match against Albania in Cardiff on June 5th.

Previously, the Welsh federation planned to travel to Portugal for a training camp at the end of May before a possible day away in France on June 2 at a location to be confirmed.

France has superstars Mbappe, Antoine Griezmann and Paul Pogba in its ranks.

Wales lost 3-1 to Belgium in their first 2022 World Cup qualifying game on Wednesday night.

They faced the French in a friendly match in November 2017 under Chris Coleman with Les Bleus winning a comfortable 2-0 at Stade de France.

Following the proposed French test, Wales hope to have returning fans for Albania’s visit to Cardiff City Stadium.

SunSport revealed last month that the Welsh Federation had expressed interest in the Euro kickoff match as a pilot event to bring supporters, possibly even 5,000 fans, back to the pitch.

Wales will discover the extent of Joe Allen’s muscle injury on Friday after a scan.

Swansea center-back Brandon Cooper, 21, has been called up with James Lawrence unavailable for the next two games.

The St Pauli defender, who started in Belgium, cannot travel to Cardiff and face Mexico and the Czech Republic due to Covid-19 restrictions.
