The curfew in France will start one hour later at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday

The national curfew will begin at 7:00 p.m., instead of 6:00 p.m., from this Saturday in all regions of mainland France, including those that will be under full lockdown from Saturday.
Complete four-week lockdown for 16 departments in France

The lockdown will apply to all the departments of Ile-de-France and Hauts-de-France plus Eure, Seine-Maritime and Alpes-Maritimes.

The curfew was pushed back due to lighter evenings, but Prime Minister Jean Castex said it should not become a pretext for barbecues with friends or social gatherings in parks or other public spaces.

“This choice to have fewer restrictions on the possibilities of leaving home must be accompanied by real vigilance,” he said.

Group gatherings should be avoided and prefects will be responsible for prohibiting access to certain public spaces, he said.

The prime minister also said the new lockdown measures could be extended to other departments if necessary.
