Although Scott Pilgrim vs the World celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2020, the big celebrations have been quite difficult during the height of the pandemic. As we finally get to the other side, Edgar Wright’s hit will hit select Dolby Cinema theaters across the United States, starting April 30. Best of all, it’s a brand new take on the movie that no one – probably without Wright and company – has seen! Watch the trailer for Scott Pilgrim’s new version above.
“Scott Pilgrim vs. the World was designed for the big screen and for the best sound systems, ”said Wright. “Being able to see it with the best specs is obviously every filmmaker’s dream. You want people to see it as well as possible. I suspect that if you are a fan of the film, you will get such pleasure from seeing it like this. ”The film follows Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) as he battles the Seven Bad Exes of Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead). Each of them has a different power than the last, but Scott is the real enemy he will have to defeat before all is said and done. Of course, this is all done with spectacularly fun visual effects and a whole soundtrack of mind-blowing songs. After receiving widespread acclaim from critics and consumers alike, it’s no wonder we’re seeing a big push for the failed 10-year celebration.
This all-new version of Scott Pilgrim vs the World will be available for a week from its release on April 30. It will also be a good distraction for Wright fans who are still waiting to see his new movie, Last Night in Soho (currently slated for October). In the meantime, be sure to check out all of the upcoming movies that are heading to theaters and airing in 2021.
