Newcastle must fight to stay in the Premier League with Ashley and Steve Bruce regularly receiving a stick from Toon fans.
But Ferdinand suggests that if they’re not happy with the current situation, they should put their hands in their pockets …
“He doesn’t care what people think,” Ferdinand said on his Youtube channel.
“It’s his club and he does what he wants.
“Whether you like it or not, he’s the one who invested and he’s doing what he thinks is right for the club.
“That the Geordies don’t like him… many hate him and don’t like him but… round up your money and take the club back then.”

The former Manchester United defender has also targeted the club’s poor record in recruiting young players, insisting that ‘first dibs’ in the northeast should mean more talent emerging in the first team .
He added: “That’s my biggest point with Newcastle, like, they have that area locked down, the whole northeast is basically Newcastle because Middlesbrough is not in the Premier League, Darlington etc. are not in the Premier League. So they have the first dibs on all the Northeast Talent.
“Why haven’t they trained more players in this first team? I do not understand.
“Whether it’s an investment or the quality of it, the structure of this process at the club is not correct.
“If I was a Geordie, if I was a Newcastle fan, this is where I would scream and point fingers.
“We haven’t done enough with the talent that has to play at Newcastle. It’s impossible to think that there aren’t more [good local players who should have been developed]. »
Ferdinand admitted that the Geordies’ fanatical support deserved a better team to scream.
“I loved playing there, what a place to play,” Ferdinand said.
“We used to hurt them, but it was an amazing place to play. What a stadium.
“We beat them once… and that’s how good their fans are, the Geordies yeah.
“I have to take my hat off to them. We beat them something like 6-1 and they always sang their songs for their club and cheered their team.
“It was amazing and all of our players were in the locker room, saying you heard that?” Did you hear what was going on there.
