Ronan Keating's wife rushed to hospital for emergency surgery in 'scariest week of her life'

ROnan Keating’s wife has revealed she was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery on her spine.

Storm Keating said she was first taken to hospital with a prolapsed disc and doctors said she would need “surgery”.

However, a doctor treating the 39-year-old woman discovered that she was suffering from cauda equina syndrome – a severe type of spinal stenosis.
The condition can cause compression in the lower nerves resulting in loss of sensation, incontinence, and paralysis if not treated immediately.
Sharing her ordeal on Instagram, the Australian fashion designer said it had been “the scariest week of her life”.
“It has been a long and trying week, the scariest week of my life. But I am extremely grateful to Dr Syed Aftab and all of the amazing specialists, doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and orderlies at #CromwellHospital who helped me get through this, ”she writes.
“On Saturday I was rushed with what we already knew was a very bad prolapsed disc, which had more recently degenerated to the point that it required surgery. ”
“Without Dr Aftab and his diligence, care, attention and acute skills, I would not leave this hospital with the prospect of leading the normal life I had always imagined.
“There are no words that will ever come close to describing my gratitude to you Syed, thank you. ”
Storm continued to thank the staff and fans at Crowmell Hospital for their best wishes.
“And to Georgia and all the wonderful nurses and medical assistants who wiped my tears, comforted my fears, cleansed me and allowed me to keep my dignity in the times I thought I would lose it… you are amazing human beings to do. what you do, thank you, ”added Ms. Keating.
“Finally, I just wanted to say thank you very much to everyone for your good wishes this past week, they have filled me with strength and courage. I hope that by sharing my story, it’s a little reminder to everyone to take care of their back!
“I’m very lucky, but I wouldn’t wish what I went through on anyone. We share our tops on Insta but sometimes it’s good to share our bottoms too. It was one of mine ❤️ ”
