It comes after Naga Munchetty apologized for liking the ‘offensive’ tweets on the video call background of a government minister with the Union flag.
The BBC Breakfast presenter, 46, said she had since deleted the likes and they did not represent the broadcaster’s views.
Munchetty had been the subject of criticism from some online following an interview on Thursday in which she and her co-host Charlie Stayt called attention to a large flag and a picture of the Queen visible behind Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick.
At the end of the interview, Stayt said, “I think your flag is not the standard size, based on the government interviews measurements.
“I think it’s just a little small, but it’s really your department. It’s just a thought.
Mr Jenrick, who was speaking by video call from Westminster, did not respond.
When the camera returned to the studio, Munchetty was seen trying to stifle her laughter.
She added: “There is always a flag. They did, however, have the queen’s photo. In the Westminster office, I assume.
Munchetty later apologized for liking a series of tweets referring to their interview and the flag.
She wrote on Twitter: “I ‘liked’ today’s tweets which were offensive in nature about the use of the British flag as a backdrop in a government interview this morning. I have since deleted these “likes”.
“It does not represent my opinion or that of the BBC. I apologize for any offense committed. ”
Veteran and proud Welsh news anchor Huw Edwards took to Twitter and posted the Welsh flag behind him and wrote: ‘Flags are now mandatory – very happy with my new backdrop for BBC News at ten o’clock. It sounded a bit funny, but it was not shared by the bosses at the BBC. He later tweeted, “Eviscerated. My Pro-flag Wales tweet was reduced to its peak. By order. But he will come back to tmw for rugby – by popular demand. In the meantime, enjoy this gorgeous flag – one of my favorites. ”
Huw Edwards has been asked to remove a photo of the Welsh flag. The nations of the United Kingdom are now seen as a threat.

If BBC Scotland had employees with a sense of decency and respect for their colleague Huw Edwards, we would have a sea of salting on their social media today. But no.

Very happy to hear that Huw Edwards deleted this tweet. Even though this was just a joke it is important that it be removed from the Twittersphere as it clearly upset the flag shaggers thank goodness no one saved a screenshot pic.twitter.com/6E466o6kSK

Hi Huw Edwards, this nationalist flag waved by Tory MPs is laughable at best and causes vomiting. Well done for showing how pathetic and shameful this is on the BBC for having it removed. https://t.co/sueBl8UmF9
