The former pop star, 48, took to his Instagram page on Monday to explain that he wondered why he hadn’t heard from James, after sending him numerous messages, before adding that ‘he then discovered that the filmmaker, 56, was indisposed.
Worried Pete uploaded a photo of James alongside a selfie of himself and asked his fans to pray for his mate – whose condition is unknown – then begged him for a cure saying he was “Worried” for him.
Sharing his torment at the situation, Pete wrote on the social media site, “My dear friend @jhickox. I will recover soon. I worry about you.
“An incredible friend, director and screenwriter. I texted him and called him but unfortunately he’s in a coma.
“Please all send him your prayers so he can hopefully see this WHEN he wakes up:
Below the post, Pete’s fans typed some kind messages, many offering to keep James in their thoughts while wishing him a speedy recovery.
Musician Mysterious Girl and Pete have worked together on several projects, including the Andre’s Greek Odyssey TV series in 2017 as well as Pete’s, yet to be released, acting debut in The Undoing.
Pete was keen to branch out into the world of theater and spoke last year about how he wanted to take a break from Hollywood.
The star was planning to take a trip across the pond last year after wowing critics in the 2019 short film The Inheritance, but his plans have been postponed in the wake of Covid-19.
Nonetheless, the former pop star told the Mirror he will return to Tinseltown as soon as he is safe – and may even take his 15-year-old son Junior with him.

“I’ll definitely go there when we can – and I might just take Junior with me.” That’s what Junior wants to do. He’s not as interested in music, but he loves to play.
“They don’t know me that well there, which is great when you want to start on a new path.”
