” Peril! The odds fell an additional 5% in Katie Couric’s second week as guest host, falling behind “Family Feud” to finish second for the first time since the last episodes of Alex Trebek.
” Peril! ”Finished with a household score of 5.3, while“ Family Feud ”led the week ending March 21 with a score of 5.4.

Couric was the very first game show host. On March 8, she took over from “Jeopardy!” executive producer Mike Richards, who himself grabbed it from legendary game champion and current consulting producer Ken Jennings. Next in the show’s guest rotation was Dr. Oz, who started his run last week (though many aren’t thrilled he got the gig). We’ll know how it stacked up next week.

” Peril! Has been on a crazy audience run in 2021. The final episodes of longtime host Alex Trebek, who died in November following a battle with pancreatic cancer, hit season highs early January. The show earned a 6.6 rating throughout its farewell week, with its final episode on January 8 drawing 14 million viewers, more than any episode in over a year.

Jennings drew a rating of 6.2 in her first week. In week 2 he was rated 5.9. Jennings owns the “Jeopardy!” records for winnings and prize money. He also won the show’s “Greatest of All Time” tournament.

Future guest hosts as the show develops a permanent succession plan include Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, “60 Minutes” correspondent Bill Whitaker and “Call Me Kat” star Mayim Bialik. The show will donate to a charity chosen by each guest host in an amount equal to the cumulative earnings of participants during their respective episode week.

Also for the week ending March 21, “Live With Kelly and Ryan” led the talk shows with a rating of 1.8 and “Judge Judy was comfortably ahead of the courtroom shows with a rating of 5. , 2.
