Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore was arrested Thursday night in Cleveland for being suspended for possession of a stolen handgun.

Lattimore was charged with a fourth degree felony on Friday of receiving a stolen gun, reports NFL Media.

Lattimore waived his preliminary hearing, and his case was referred to the grand jury of the Cuyahoga County Joint Plea Court. His bond was set at $ 5,000 at Friday’s hearing, according to NFL Media.

Lattimore was a passenger in a car stopped by police for “several traffic violations”. Two other passengers were arrested for possession of weapons while they were disabled. The driver was arrested for mishandling a firearm in a motor vehicle and issued a citation for driving without working taillights.

The handgun in Lattimore’s possession was reported stolen by someone in Euclid, Ohio.

Lattimore’s attorney issued a statement before Lattimore was indicted, calling Lattimore’s arrest a “misunderstanding.”

Lattimore, 24, was a Saints first-round pick in 2017. He completed three Pro Bowls, including in 2020.

Lattimore is entering the final year of his rookie contract which is expected to earn $ 10.244 million in 2021.
