London Covid cases revealed by Borough as infection rates drop despite mass testing


LDonors have canceled Covid-19 cases at a seven-day rate of less than 30 in seven boroughs of central London, official figures reveal today.

They show the rate fell to 28.3 new confirmed infections per 100,000 in Westminster in the week of March 19.

The lowest rate was in Hackney and the City of London at 17.9.
Six boroughs on the outskirts of London have a rate below 30, with the lowest in Barnet being 21.
The other five are Croydon, Bromley, Bexley, Haringey and Enfield.
Official figures show:
  • London’s seven-day rate was 35.8 new confirmed cases per 100,000 in the week to March 19, down 9.8% from the week before.
  • Eight arrondissements had a rate between 30 and 40 and seven between 40 and 50.
  • The highest seven-day rate was in Hillingdon at 67.1.
  • The largest drop in cases was in Barnet, down 40.3% in the week to March 19, followed by Croydon by 40% and Waltham Forest by 28.3%.
  • The biggest gain was recorded in Islington, up 67.2%, but from a weak base.
  • It was announced yesterday that an additional 34,935 first-dose injections had been given in London, bringing the total to 2,935,365 so far with the deployment of the vaccine.
  • It was announced yesterday that another 15,861 second-dose vaccinations had been administered in the capital, bringing the total to 235,238 so far.
  • Seven deaths, within 28 days of testing positive for the coronavirus, were announced yesterday for the city, bringing the total to 15,395 so far.

  • Barnet recorded 83 cases in the week to March 19, down 56 (40.3%) with a 21-day, seven-day rate
  • Croydon 90 cases, down from 60 (40%) rate 23.3
  • Waltham Forest 86 cases, down from 34 (28.3%) rate 31
  • Bromley 83 cases, down from 30 (26.5%) rate 25
  • Hammersmith and Fulham 54 cases, down 19 (26%) rate 29.2
  • Camden 55 cases, down 19 (25.7%) rate from 20.4
  • Sutton 69 cases, down 23 (25%) rate 33.4
  • Haringey 64 cases, down 19 (22.9%) rate 23.8
  • Kingston 80 cases, down 20 (20%) rate 45.1
  • Bexley 63 cases, down 14 (18.2%) rate from 25.4
  • Ealing 205 cases, down from 44 (17.7%) rate 60
  • Harrow 124 cases, down 25 (16.8%) rate 49.4
  • Westminster 74 cases, down 12 (14%) rate 28.3
  • Hillingdon 206 cases, down 33 (13.8%) rate 67.1
  • 91 cases, down from 13 (12.5%) rate from 35.1
  • Kensington and Chelsea 38 cases, drop rate 5 (11.6%) 24.3
  • Tower Hamlets 105 cases, down 10 (8.7%) rate from 32.3
  • Newham 148 cases, down 12 (7.5%) rate from 41.9
  • Hounslow 157 cases, down 8 (4.8%) rate from 57.8
  • Enfield 95 cases, down 3 (3.1%) rate 28.5
  • Bark and Dagenham 94 cases, rate of decline of 1 (1.1%) 44.2
  • Greenwich 106 cases, down 1 (0.9%) rate 36.8
  • Hackney and City of London 52 no change, rate 17.9
  • Richmond 66 cases, up 1 (1.5%) rate 33.3
  • Wandsworth 120 cases, up 2 (1.7%) rate 36.4
