Starting Monday, Krispy Kreme is offering customers an additional incentive to get vaccinated – a free Original Glazed donut to those who present their vaccine card at any Krispy Kreme store in the United States.
And it’s not just a one-time offer – those with a vaccine card can come back every day for free donuts until the end of 2021.
On its website, the company says those who want the free treat must present a Covid-19 vaccination record stating that they have received at least one injection of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines, or the Johnson & Johnson single-shot vaccine. The company will not honor the vaccine stickers.
“Providing free original frozen donuts to those who get vaccinated is just another gesture that we hope will sweeten people’s lives as the country steps up to put this virus behind us,” the company said. in a statement to NBC News.
Krispy Kreme offers up to four hours of paid time off to its employees to facilitate their vaccination. The company also plans to send free donuts to some vaccination centers across the country in the coming weeks to “support health workers and volunteers who help administer vaccines.”
“We all want COVID-19 to be behind us as quickly as possible and we want to support everyone who is doing their part to make the country safe by getting vaccinated as soon as the vaccine is available to them,” Dave Skena, Director of Krispy Kreme Marketing, said in a press release.
The offer can only be used in store or behind the wheel. No online order or delivery will be accepted.
Krispy Kreme is also offering customers a free Original Iced Donut and Medium Coffee at participating U.S. locations every Monday from March 29 to May 24. The company hopes this will help them “get their week off to a good start in these tough times.”
