Brubaker was found not guilty of sexual assault and sexual exploitation in 2019 after being charged with sexually assaulting a young gymnast years ago. Gymnastics Canada says he was suspended when he was arrested in December 2017.
The organization says his suspension has been extended and an internal investigation has been opened after written complaints.
Dave’s wife Liz Brubaker was also provisionally suspended in 2019 after receiving written complaints while coaching at the Bluewater Gymnastics Club in Sarnia, Ont.
Gymnastics Canada says Liz Brubaker’s suspension has been extended until 2024.
The disciplinary committee in the case said Dave and Liz Brubaker had violated the relevant policies of the organization’s code of ethics and conduct that were in effect at the time the events occurred (1996-2017 ).
The organization says Dave and Liz Brubaker have 15 days to appeal the suspension.

Gymnastics Canada says an investigator interviewed witnesses from both sides and delivered a report detailing the facts of the case. After receiving and reviewing the investigator’s report, the organization’s third party responsible for harassment formally registered the complaints and ordered the matter to be heard by an independent disciplinary committee.
Dave Brubaker did not immediately respond to an interview request.
