According to new research, you didn’t just get old during the pandemic.
You are bigger.
New research reveals that Americans have gained around 20 pounds. since the start of the pandemic.
Which begs the question: in relation to what?

Seriously, I feel like I’m gaining 20 pounds. one year; then I spend the next year losing it.
But other than not having a control group, that makes sense: shut everyone off, exercise space becomes limited, your companion becomes a flat screen. If you don’t have an exercise and diet system in place, you are going to put on weight.
It’s not good.
COVID triggered the shutdown which ensured that one of the common risk factors only increased: obesity.
COVID is a pro at self-preservation.
But it’s a shame that we can’t talk about obesity from the start.
I’d say it’s the elephant in the risk room, but then a Teen Vogue editor would try to cancel me.

Avoidance for the sake of feelings, kills.
It also increases the risk of impaired immune function and chronic inflammation.

The World Obesity Federation reports that in countries where more than half of the population is overweight, death rates are ten times higher than in other countries. It’s incredible.
Looks like the press should have led very early.
I mean they like to raise awareness for all kinds of things including fat acceptance.
But with that – they just couldn’t tell. At least out loud.
