As for women, Béryl Gastaldello will lead the team in one of their first major international competitions since making waves throughout the 2019 and 2020 ISL seasons. It will be their shot to maintain their dominance in the long distance arena. Gastaldello has a number of European Short Course Championship medals to his name, but has yet to make an individual podium in the long race version of the competition. In 2018, she helped France win gold in the women’s and mixed 4 × 100 freestyle relays at the European Long Course Championships in Glasgow.
Joining Gastaldello will be the 2012 and 2016 Olympian Charlotte Bonnet and Olympian 2016 Fantine Lesaffre. They were the only two French women to win an individual swimming medal at the last European Championships in long course in 2018.
