HOUSTON –Rusty Hardin, attorney for Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, has confirmed that the athlete has been sued by four other women, bringing the total number of lawsuits to 20.
Lawyer Tony Buzbee first posted about the four additional lawsuits Friday night on Instagram. However, as of Saturday night, they had not yet appeared on the District Clerk’s website.
The civil lawsuits we were able to review allege that Watson engaged in lewd behavior with women he hired for massages, exposing himself to them, moving his body in a way that forced them to touch his penis and forcing them to touch it in a sexual way.
The incidents cited in the lawsuits are believed to have occurred between March 2020 and March 2021.
Most of the incidents reportedly occurred in Texas, but two incidents reportedly occurred in Georgia and California.
“This case is about empowering women, taking back power,” Buzbee, the Houston lawyer representing all women, said at a press conference last week. “These women who stepped forward knew they would face contempt and ridicule. They all agreed to plead for the minimum limits of jurisdiction of the tribunal. And they carry these cases for one reason only: to put an end to any further misconduct by this defendant or any like him.
Watson denied the allegations and said in a statement that he “has never treated a woman with anything other than the utmost respect.”
The NFL opened an investigation into Watson’s conduct last week.
Watson is a star quarterback for the Houston Texans. In September 2020, he signed a four-year contract extension worth almost $ 160 million. Unhappy with the team’s direction, Watson requested a trade in January 2021.
Note that none of the women are identified by name in the lawsuits. Rather, each is called “Jane Doe”.
