Jake Wood whipped EastEnders fans as he shared a snap while sipping a cup of Coronation Street.

The actor played Max Branning on the BBC soap opera, but recently left Albert Square for good.

But the 48-year-old might not stay off our screens for long, as he’s teased us all with a possible appearance in rival soap opera ITV.

Taking to Instagram, he uploaded a photo while taking a sip from a Corrie-branded mug.

‘Good morning all. I can’t beat a cup of tea the first hour, ”he wrote in the caption, raising eyebrows all over.

Fans instantly inundated Jake’s comments, speculating what that might mean.

‘Hessss goes to Corrie [sic]One of them deduced, while another asked, “Are you hinting at a future role for Corrie?” [sic]».

‘What is that? Don’t be a traitor Max, pleaded a disciple.

While one Instagram user was a little more excited about what the post could mean, he replied, “Yes, yes, [sic]».

One follower added: “A clue or not. What about the Eastenders mug or is that a sign that you are going on Corrie?

‘We need you, @dollyjj, @jacjossa all back on Eastenders please [sic]».

Jake left EastEnders last month in emotional scenes, after playing Max for 15 years.

Her former co-star Jacqueline Jossa – who played on-screen girl Lauren Branning – was recently asked whether she would be making a surprise return to Walford anytime soon.

She didn’t rule anything out – but insisted she would only make a comeback if the rest of the Branning clan joined.

During a question-and-answer session, she told fans, “The timing should be right. This would only happen if all the Brannings returned at the same time.

“So EastEnders should want us all to come back.

Someone call the bosses of EastEnders ASAP.
