7 new coronavirus outbreaks detected in Boulder County

Seven coronavirus outbreaks were determined in Boulder County by the state this week.
Boulder County also reported 75 new COVID-19 cases and three new hospitalizations Thursday, but no new deaths in the past 15 days.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment released its outbreak report on Wednesday, which showed seven new outbreaks in the county, bringing the total number of active outbreaks in the county to 27.

Outbreaks were determined at Pollard Jeep of Boulder in Boulder, RoughRiders 15U hockey team in Superior, Arapahoe Roofing in Louisville, Boulder High School in Boulder, Heritage Title Company in Boulder, St. Julien Hotel and Spa in Boulder and a gathering of teens in Boulder. Rock.

The outbreak at St. Julien Hotel and Spa, 900 Walnut St., was determined on Tuesday and involved three hotel bar staff.

“Following the recent discovery of three positive cases of COVID-19 at the T-Zero Show, we have notified and are cooperating with Boulder County Public Health,” said St. Julien Hotel and Spa General Manager Bob Trotter , in an interview on Thursday.

Trotter also said he and his team immediately got to work with additional cleaning, using a specialist lightweight cleaner on fabrics, and notified those potentially exposed through contact tracing. He also said the hotel and spa immediately quarantined affected staff members and did so before the state informed them of the status of their outbreak.

“Yes, the epidemiologist was pleasantly surprised that we had already stepped in to ensure that our clients and clients as well as our staff were already informed and that the proper precautions were already taken when they called and notified us,” added Trotting.

“We remain committed to playing our role in preventing the widespread transmission of COVID-19. The outbreak at Boulder High School, 1604 Arapahoe Ave., was determined last Friday and involved four young athletes.

The Boulder Valley School District noted that the data on epidemics in the states is a repeat of what was previously reported on the Daily Camera. No additional information was available.

The outbreak at Boulder’s Pollard Jeep was determined last Wednesday after the publication of the reported weekly outbreak involving five staff members. The Jeep dealer did not respond to a comment until the post Thursday.

The outbreak in the RoughRiders 15U boys team, 2800 Dagny Way, Lafayette, was determined last Thursday and involved four participants. The youth sports organization did not return requests for comment in time for publication on Thursday.

The outbreak at Arapahoe Roofing, 1501 S. Arthur Ave., Louisville, was determined last Friday and involved eight staff members. The cover company’s phone number was disconnected and could not be reached for comment.

An outbreak at Heritage Title Company, 4909 Pearl E. Circle, Boulder, was determined on Tuesday and involved three staff. The headline company did not return requests for comment in time for publication on Thursday.

The gathering of teens in the Boulder outbreak was identified last Thursday and involved 18 people. No further information on this gathering was available.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment wrote in an email Thursday: “When our epidemic data identifies a ‘social gathering’, it is a more general social gathering and may include weddings, birthdays or events of this nature. We do not provide additional information about these types of events, as this would violate privacy rules. For example, in many cases, gatherings take place in a private residence. ”

The 75 new cases bring the county’s total number of cases to 20,273 and the three new hospitalizations bring the county’s total to 663, with 23 residents currently hospitalized with coronavirus. Seven residents were released Thursday after receiving COVID-19 treatment. The number of resident deaths remains unchanged at 250.

BCPH also reported that 33,793 residents of Boulder County received a partial dose of COVID-19 Moderna or Pfizer vaccination, or 12.3% of the county’s eligible population. Another 58,070 people, or 21.2% of the county’s eligible population, were fully vaccinated with both doses of Moderna or Pfizer vaccines or the single-dose vaccine from Johnson & Johnson. A total of 91,863, or 33.5% of residents eligible for the vaccine, have received at least one dose of coronavirus in Boulder County.

The University of Colorado at Boulder updated its scorecard on Thursday. During Wednesday’s testing, there were nine positive results from 181 diagnostic tests and 1,370 surveillance tests. The dashboard showed that three of the university’s isolation spaces were in use, or 1% of the quarantine space. Since the spring testing began on Jan. 4, there have been 487 positives from 8,250 diagnostic tests and 66,878 surveillance tests.

The Boulder Valley School District updated its dashboard on Thursday. The district has reported seven active cases with 102 students and eight staff in quarantine.

The St. Vrain Valley School District on Thursday reported on its dashboard 21 active cases, split between 20 students and one staff member. The district recorded a total of 743 student cases and 244 staff cases, for a total of 987.

Statewide, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment reported that there were 454,893 cases. There were 6,082 deaths among the cases, and among these there were 6,191 deaths from COVID-19. There were 25,225 people hospitalized. Of more than 5.7 million Colorado residents, 2,696,981 people have been tested.
