While he’s firmly entrenched in the DC comic book universe after directing Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and the highly anticipated Snyder Cut of Justice League, it looks like Zack Snyder may still be interested in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In other words, provided he can use a specific Marvel property. Speaking to ComicBook Debate earlier this month, Snyder announced that he might be drawn to the MCU if there is a chance to adapt Frank Miller’s Elektra Lives Again.

The 1990 graphic novel is a spin-off of the Daredevil series and sees Matt Murdock’s Daredevil ravaged by dreams, haunted by Elektra’s death.

“I would choose Elektra revit,“Snyder said. Daredevil is dreaming of Elektra coming back to life and it’s really cool and weird… it’s just cool and beautiful. This is what I would do. Nobody cares, but that’s what I would do. ”

While it may seem unusual for one of DC’s top directors to jump ship, it’s not without precedent. James Gunn directed Guardians of the Galaxy and the upcoming movie The Suicide Squad.

But really the biggest hurdle is that Daredevil and Elektra have made appearances in Marvel canon before – both appearing on the now canceled Netflix Daredevil series. While Charlie Cox is reportedly in talks to join Spider-Man 3 as Daredevil once again, Snyder may have missed the boat while directing a Daredevil / Elektra movie.
