Eight teams and a high volume pump were called in and firefighters spent the night fighting the Widnes blaze.
The Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that they arrived at the barn on Joy Lane, next to Clock Face Road at 10:46 p.m. and found the 20 x 30 foot building ‘well lit’.
Firefighters confirmed that up to 20 vehicles were inside the eviscerated barn.
At this point, no details on the vehicles or the cause of the fire have been given.
The Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said crews have fought through the night and, although reduced, some firefighters are still fighting the blaze this morning.

A spokesperson for the Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said: ‘Fire crews were called in to a large fire in a barn on Joy Lane, near Clock Face Road.

And in a tweet earlier this morning, they added: “Firefighters continued to fight the blaze, believed to involve up to 20 vehicles in the barn throughout the night.
“The incident has been reduced significantly, but firefighters are staying at the scene to ensure it is completely extinguished. ”
