The Rock gave it back to someone who helped him in a big way at the time, by giving Harvey Wippleman a new car. The Great One posted on his Instagram with a video in which he asked the former manager and referee for a new car and told how Wippleman (aka Bruno Lauer) gave him a place to stay after his mother’s eviction and from him.

“Merry Christmas, Bruno. I love you, my brother! 100% crackhead free

My life (especially my teenage years) was full of the craziest twists and turns – yet God and the universe had always found a way to put a few people in my path that would change the course of the road I was taking.

Meet one of my lifelong friends Bruno Lauer – or I prefer to call him “Downtown Bruno”

My mom and I were kicked off the island of Hawaii and sent to Nashville, Tennessee to live with my dad.

When I landed in Nashville, I quickly found out that I was not going to live with my dad.

Shit happens, plans change and that’s how it goes.

Instead, I said I was going to live with a guy named Bruno. Who at the time lived in a small room at a place called the Alamo Plaza Motel.

Bruno could (and should have) said no, I’m not taking a kid I don’t know.

But he did not do it.

He welcomed this punk kid and we became lifelong friends.

Then ironically – about 9 years later, when I had the infamous “$ 7 Bucks” in my pocket – I started my wrestling career in Memphis, Tennessee and AGAIN – I had no place to live. and Bruno took me and let me shake in his trailer, until I could get up.

And damn it, when I was 15 Bruno even gave me his last $ 40 so I could get a crackhead out of his car one night in a honky tonk in Nashville.

But the commotion was on me, because when I took off on the road, there was a passed out SECOND CRACKHEAD on the ground in the back!

Wild weather at 15.

Merry Christmas, Bruno and since you helped me ‘buy’ my first car – I thought I could reciprocate and buy you one that 100% does NOT have a crack head on it. back.

I love your brother.

Your kindness and your heart have helped change the course of my life.

And when you’re ready to step out of “the business,” just say the word.

I got you covered.

We will go “downtown”

Enjoy your new run and give Walls, Mississippi my love and gratitude ”
