REPORT PHOTO: EPCOT 1/11/21 (Harmonious screen test of barges, construction of France Pavilion expansion, walls down, new merchandise, etc.)

Greetings, world travelers and hello to a great day at EPCOT! We had perfect weather today at the park so decided to check out what was new here while trying out some of the new food kiosks at the Festival of the Arts. Let’s start!

We arrived on a few construction projects in the morning. While there has been a lot of activity in the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind building, there hasn’t been any visual advancement lately.

Work is also underway in the Innoventions Est building, with a new black metal frame.

The barge Harmonious was performing screen tests this morning on both sides of the barge. No new structure existed on the lagoon.

The maintenance of the windows of the Seas Pavilion is finally finished. This saltwater aquarium window was closed for several weeks, but was reopened.

The most exciting time of our day was finding the construction walls around the entrance to the France Pavilion expansion and replacing them with planters. For more photos and videos, check out our article here.

While driving on the Skyliner, we saw these buildings delivered behind the park. It looks like these will be part of the flag expansion of Italy.

While this is not construction work, we have been following updates on this developing situation closely. The Donald animatronic was removed from the Gran Fiesta Tour a few days ago due to a malfunction, and has been replaced by some sort of memorial bearing his sombrero. Today even that was removed, leaving an empty place where he should have stood. We hope he will come back soon! For more photos and videos, check out our article here.

We found Alice in the tea garden at the UK pavilion with her “Characters Off The Page” portrait placed in the garden with her. We love that these experiences are changed rather than deleted.

Last week we saw this pin booth closed and its signage removed before the Festival of the Arts opened. Today, the stand was open and still sold pins, but under a “Festival Market” banner. We are happy to see that he is still there.

We checked out the Expression section today and painted a few squares on the numbered mural.

While browsing through the new Festival of the Arts menus, we noticed that an offer at the L’Arte di Mangiare booth in the Italy pavilion had been covered with duct tape. The Arancini is temporarily unavailable from this food stand, but will return soon.

Everything looked delicious in Karamell-Kuche’s cold case in the Germany pavilion, but we were sad to see that the Salted Caramel Gingerbread Cookie Sand which was no longer available. We are going to miss this delicious snack!

While we did notice the crowds were a bit light today, seeing Frozen Ever After having a 25 minute wait around noon was a clear benchmark for us that it was a calm day at EPCOT today.

We found some fun products for you today. The first piece was this Spirit youth swimsuit with “Baby Yoda” with the phrase “Protect”. Snack. Attack ”in the back. We found this part at Mission Space Cargo Bay for $ 49.99.

We found a fun women’s long-sleeved shirt with a line drawing of Belle and the phrase “la belle vie” at Plume et Palette in the France pavilion for $ 44.99.

At Mouse Gear, we found this fun hat with the phrase “You Say Cat Lady Like It’s A Bad Thing,” which matches the shirt from the Disney Cats collection, for $ 27.99.

We also found this set of youth sweatpants at Mouse Gear with Minnie Mouse. The top retails for $ 39.99 and the pants retail for $ 29.99.

New gift cards are available now for the Arts Festival and feature a fun design commemorating the Festival’s 5th anniversary.

We reunited with Mickey on his world tour as we circled the World Showcase today. We love the character cavalcades!

We had a wonderful day at EPCOT today and hope you enjoyed joining us. Have a magical day!
