“I think anyone who wants to get a little history from Ranchman’s – this is the only opportunity you will have to buy some of these products,” said Stewart.
The bar was famous for housing rodeo memorabilia such as saddles and trophies, which had been loaned to the bar by various winners over the years, but potential bidders will find none of these to be won. These loaned items were released by the bank last September and collected by the rightful owners.
One of the biggest items available is the famous – or infamous – party bus that once carried customers on pub crawls. The listing for the bus describes it as a “very dirty” 1995 Oshkash Prison Bus. As of Wednesday afternoon, there had been 20 deals on the bus, bringing the price up to $ 825.
But Stewart said there was more interest in a large mobile smoker ready to roll on a trailer. The bid for this item Wednesday afternoon was $ 2,000 with seven days to go to auction.
I would expect it to be a lot longer than two hours because he’s mobile, he’s got a cabin, and he’s already on wheels, and he’s a pretty tall smoker, ”said Stewart. “You could make a lot of product there. ”
He expects collectors to be very interested in bar stools and tables. Bar stools are mainly sold in sets of 12, while small round and square tables can be purchased in sets of one and two.
All items can be viewed and bid online, but potential bidders can schedule an appointment to view the assets this Friday.
Anyone hoping to have a view of the building itself will be disappointed. All merchandise has been moved off site.
Stewart said they have spaced the lots over several days so people don’t all show up at the same time to pick up their purchases, as per AHS guidelines.
