#Toronto #Raptors head coach #Nick #Nurse returned #Pascal #Siakam to the squad’s starting lineup on #Saturday after putting the forward on the bench for #Thursday’s win over the #New #York #Knicks.
#Ahead of #Toronto’s meeting against the #New #Orleans #Pelicans, #Nurse offered more information on the decision to reprimand the rising star, but was ultimately vague on details.

“#It’s something that we try to work a little bit here, and sort it out at the start of the season and not let it drag on,” he told reporters, courtesy of #Sportsnet. “Again, more just an expectation of how we want to play and not individually on how everyone wants to play.

“But there are certain standards that we want to set and he just needs to integrate them. #And he can do it. #He can do it. #It might be the first part of the process, but it can do it. ”

The #Raptors reportedly sat in #Siakam because he left the field early in their loss to the #Philadelphia 76ers on #Tuesday.

The 26-year-old picked up five fouls in just over six minutes late in the fourth quarter against #Philadelphia, leading to one foul. #However, rather than staying with the rest of the squad on the sidelines, #Siakam was seen leaving the pitch before the deadline expired.

#When asked if there was anything specific #Siakam had done to justify a match penalty the following match, the nurse declined to give further details.

“There certainly are, but it’s nothing I’m going to describe to you,” he said.

#Siakam is averaging 18.7 points, nine rebounds, 4.7 assists and one steal in three games this season while playing 39 minutes per game. #He is in the first season of the maximum four-year contract extension he signed with the club in 2019.
