Customers in areas SR2, SR3 and DH4 were affected by an unexpected power outage, first reported just before 11 a.m. this morning.
In an online statement, a spokesperson for Northern Powergrid said, “Hello to all SR2, SR3 and DH3 customers. The good news is that your diet should now be restored.
“Why not try a light switch to check? Thanks for your patience during the power outage, if you have any other power related questions please ask, we are happy to help. ”
The utility said it typically takes 90 minutes to restore power for up to 90 percent of customers.
In a previous statement on Twitter, a spokesperson for Northern Powergrid said, “Hello to all of our SR2, SR3 and DH4 customers, there is an unexpected power outage affecting 17,161 properties in your area.
“For this type of power outage, we normally return 90% of our customers in about 90 minutes.
“We currently estimate that your food will be restored at 12:30 pm.
“If our repairs take longer, we’ll keep you posted. ”
Northern Powergrid supplies electricity to 3.9 million homes and businesses in the North East and Yorkshire.
