Tierney has made 16 Premier League starts in the 2020-21 campaign, the best of all outfielders and he has been a key figure in the club’s recent return to form.

Arsenal legend Martin Keown has even suggested he could become their captain in the future.

“From the start I could see there was a determination about him,” Keown told BT Sport after Arsenal won at the Hawthorns.

“He’s just the right guy you need… his personality, his character. It is a driving force and it is a step backwards.

“In training, they have to tell him to calm down because he attacks so fiercely. I really like this attitude he brings.

“He has everything in his game, it’s about building around him. Perhaps an Arsenal captain in the making.
