Paris [France], Jan. 11 (ANI / Sputnik): More than 100,000 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in France in the past two weeks, media reported on Monday, citing French government sources.
On December 27, France, among other EU member states, launched a COVID-19 vaccination campaign with the vaccine developed by pharmaceutical companies Pfizer and BioNTech.
Last week, the National Health Authority (HAS) also approved the use of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, which is expected to arrive this week.
According to broadcaster BFMTV, the public criticized the French authorities for the slow pace of vaccination against COVID-19. At the start of last week, Health Minister Olivier Veran said the pace of vaccination would be stepped up. The categories of people eligible for vaccination in the first stage of the campaign have also been broadened.
French authorities expect around one million people to be vaccinated in early February. (ANI / Sputnik)
