They beat Chelsea 3-1 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday without Ederson, Kyle Walker, Ferran Torres and Gabriel Jesus and Guardiola says he still has limited numbers to choose from ahead of the derby at Old Trafford on Wednesday.

“We don’t have a lot of players and like I said after the first press conference playing one or two games is okay but if it lasts a long time and I can only use 14 or 15 players it will be more difficult, ”says Guardiola.

“Like everyone else in the world, we adapt, we have to adapt our lives and our jobs as much as possible and we have no alternative.

“The most important thing is that guys who have COVID can recover well and guys deal with it well and try to avoid it as much as possible. ”

City face a United side who are tied on points with Premier League leaders Liverpool after a streak of unbeaten domestic games dating back to November 1. United will be one of the main challengers for the trophy.

to play

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said Manchester United are confident ahead of their semi-final against Manchester City.

“They have always been contenders,” he said.

“Every year when we start the season United are a contender. If that hasn’t happened in recent seasons, that’s a question for them.

“Years ago it was between two, maybe three, but no more. Now there are a lot of teams and everyone can win and everyone can lose.

“Now we’re going to see the consistency of each club and the ups and downs, each club has good times and bad.

“As long as the competition continues, I think the big teams will lose less points. It’s the real Premier League competition where anyone can beat everyone.

“It’s about being calm, being cool for the moment of the game, praying that you don’t get infected with this pandemic situation in the world, and being cool the moment the game starts. ”
