The jungle series curated by Ant and Dec has been forced to abandon the usual Australian jungle due to the coronavirus pandemic.
In November, the 2020 lineup headed to Wales Castle for a new style series – unsure whether the series will return to Oz.
Now, amid growing concerns over Covid-19, there is still no guarantee that the restrictions will not prevent the 2021 series from returning to the jungle.
It is now reported that the bosses have secured the castle for another round, amid fears that Covid could impact the series again.
According to The Sun, sources have revealed that the bosses hope to return downstairs, but they are “at the mercy” of the virus and its restrictions.
They said, “At the end of the day, they are at the mercy of the Covid-19 restrictions.
“A formal agreement is in place for the use of Gwrych Castle this year.
“If the show is to be staged there again, he has the green light. ”
The Mirror has reached out to an ITV spokesperson for comment.
The change to the series didn’t affect viewing numbers as much as it looks, it was a success.
The insider continued, “A tremendous amount of work went into preparing the building so that the groundwork was all laid and ready to go.
“The castle format ended up being a huge success for ITV and having a second series in Wales wouldn’t be a problem for them.
“But going back to Australia is what everyone wants and that’s what everyone is working and hoping for. ”
I’m a celebrity scheduled to return in November 2021.
