Grimes and her partner Elon Musk started dating in 2018 after they bonded over a joke shared on Twitter.

She and the CEO of Tesla welcomed their first child, under the abstract name X Æ A-Xii, in May 2020.

In recent months, Musk has come under fire on social media for some of his recent socially conservative posts, particularly around online censorship and transgender rights.

“I absolutely support trans, but all of those pronouns are an aesthetic nightmare,” he complained on Twitter Dec. 16 in response to a critical opinion piece about him.

The post prompted the businessman to be mercilessly mocked on Twitter by users who pointed out that his child’s name could also be called an “aesthetic nightmare.”

‘You named your child x æ a-12 and you want to call PRONOUNS an aesthetic nightmare ????’ wrote a user.

Another joked, “Elon Musk named his baby X Æ A-12, but people with pronouns are where he draws the line.”

The founder of SpaceX recently saw his fortune grow to the point that he toppled Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos as the richest man in the world.

Musk currently sits atop the Bloomberg Billionaires Index with a total net worth of $ 209 billion, while Bezos is the second richest at $ 186 billion and Bill Gates comes in third at $ 134 billion.
