Green Arrow and Canaries fail to progress on The CW

The deadline indicates that the The arrow spin off Green Arrow and the Canaries will no longer progress to the CW. The spin-off started out as a backdoor pilot in the final season of The arrow in January of last year.
The option on casting expired last year (with a prequel series for The 100, which is also not moving forward), but in May, CW chairman Mark Pedowitz said there was still talk.

He said at the time: “They are actively participating in discussions to see what we can do. I’ve had a lot of discussions with Warner Bros, we have a strategy in play – hopefully we can pull it off. »

There had been discussions about the two shows that aired on The CW and aired on HBO Max at the same time, but it is unlikely that the The arrow spin off. The series is said to have played Katherine McNamara, Katie Cassidy and Juliana Harkavy. It took place in 2040 Star City, where Mia Queen (McNamara) teams up with Laurel (Cassidy) and Dinah (Harkavy) to stop the evil. Tara Miele directed the episode of the original series, from a script by showrunner Beth Schwartz and co-creator / executive producer Marc Guggenheim, executive producer Jill Blankenship and co-executive producer Oscar Balderrama. It was reportedly produced by Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros Television.
