Longtime New Yorker Karol Markowicz has slammed Gov. Andrew Cuomo on “the US newsroom” for his pandemic coronavirus “mess” over states like Florida.

“We have Governor Cuomo, who has been told that he has done a great job throughout this process, and has actually done a terrible job,” the New York Post columnist said Tuesday.

“I mean, not only have our businesses been destroyed, our immunization program is overdue,” she said. “Florida only goes through age, which we should have done from the start. ”

In his Post column, Markowicz writes: “The authorities in New York have no confidence in our people to do what is right for themselves and their neighbors. Our lives are being held hostage to Cuomo’s whims. ”

However, she points out that Floridians know what to expect from Governor Ron DeSantis.

“The biggest difference is that everything in Florida is open, and indoor dining is open in every city, and they kind of live semi-normal lives, but everyone is still wearing masks. , everyone is socially distant, everyone washes their hands frequently, ”she said. “They take every precaution without any of the madness that we do in New York. ”

Markowicz stressed that it’s not unusual to see a New Yorker wearing a mask alone on the street even though he shouldn’t have to.

“We did it because we feel the pressure from society to do it, but in Florida they just don’t do crazy things like that. This makes it easier to take the precautions seriously, ”she said.

“Florida is doing it right. New York isn’t, and that’s really hard to say for a lifelong New Yorker, ”concluded Markowicz.
