Eberechi Eze’s visit to his former club QPR on Saturday for their FA Cup third round match against Fulham is under investigation by the Football Association.

The winger, who joined Crystal Palace from QPR for £ 20million this summer, sat in the directors’ box at the Kiyan Prince Foundation stadium as Rangers were beaten 2-0 in overtime by Fulham .

It is understood that Eze was a guest of QPR for the tie, with his presence conditioned on him complying with Covid-19 protocols and returning a negative coronavirus test. He complied with all of it.

The FA said Sky Sports News he will be looking into Eze’s presence and the governing body said that, contrary to some reports, it did not give permission for the 22-year-old to go to the game.

QPR boss Mark Warburton said: “I don’t know if he broke protocols or not. You should ask our health and safety officer because it’s above my salary.

“I want to talk about the game. What other players are doing at their own pace, I can’t comment. This is not my area of expertise. Far from there. ”

Sky Sports News contacted Crystal Palace and QPR for further comments.

Palace boss Roy Hodgson made it clear this week to his players that no further breach of government coronavirus guidelines would be accepted after Captain Luka Milivojevic broke the rules on New Years Eve.

Milivojevic apologized on Wednesday after his family mingled with Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic and his family.
