Reports of a local supermarket worker testing positive for the coronavirus have been confirmed.
“Yes, one of our Real Canadian Superstore team members [in] Duncan recently tested positive for COVID-19, ”Loblaw public relations said in an email Friday afternoon. “We are working with the local public health team and have taken a number of steps to minimize risk, including increased sanitization protocols and the application of social distancing practices in the store.”
The store also arranged for additional cleaning.
“The team members who worked closely with this person are now at home, isolated, watching for any symptoms.”
It is believed, but not confirmed by official sources, that the employee last worked at the store on January 2.
