OTTAWA – The #Renfrew #County and #District #Health #Unit has declared an outbreak of COVID-19 at a beautician’s business in #Petawawa.
#According to a press release from RCDHU, two clients and a member of the workplace staff tested positive for COVID-19.

“Two confirmed cases that are linked within the organization meet the provincial guideline for reporting a workplace outbreak,” the health unit said. “RCDHU works closely with the workplace to ensure that the necessary measures continue to be in place to protect all staff and the public. ”

#Close contacts of those affected have been instructed to self-isolate and organize a COVID-19 test.

The RCDHU did not name the company where the epidemic occurred.

“#Please don’t let your guard down. I want to remind all of you that we are currently in provincial lockdown so everyone should stay home as no social gatherings indoors with members of other households are allowed, ”said #Dr #Robert #Cushman, interim RCDHU medical officer of health in a press release.

#Businesses that provide personal care services, such as beauty salons, are currently closed as part of the provincial lockdown, which began on #December 26, 2020. RCDHU did not say when the three people who were tested positive may have contracted the virus.

  • #Avoid contact with others. #No visitors unless deemed essential (eg caregivers), stay in a separate room away from other people in your household, use a separate bathroom if possible.

  • #If these steps are not possible, maintain a distance of 2 meters from others at all times.
