COVID-19 continues to hit Midwestern Ontario


Huron Perth Public Health added 22 new cases of COVID 19 on Tuesday, including five in South Huron, six in Stratford and four in North Perth. There have now been 25 deaths. Eight long-term care homes and three retirement homes are struggling with epidemics. A new epidemic has been declared in Fordwich Village.
Outbreaks continue at Seaforth Manor, Braemar Nursing Home in Wingham, Exeter Villa, Greenwood Court in Stratford, Knollcrest Lodge in Perth East and the Wildwood Care Center in St. Marys. Outbreaks in nursing homes include Caressant Care in North Perth and Livingston Manor in North Perth as well as the
Exeter Villa retirement home.

Gray Bruce’s health unit has added six new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, one each in Kincardine, Southgate, West Gray, Hanover, South Bruce and Blue Mountains.
There are 52 active cases and one probable case, as well as 157 high-risk contacts. Two people are in the hospital. There was no outbreak or death in Gray Bruce.

Public Health Wellington Dufferin Guelph added 35 more cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday. There are 452 active cases and five people are hospitalized. There were 55 deaths.

Ten of the new cases were in Wellington County with two hospitalizations. There were seven deaths. There are 80 active cases. A new outbreak has been declared at Caressant Care in Harriston. The outbreak at Royal Terrace in Palmerston has been declared over.
