Do hairdressers have to close at level 3?
No. Hairdressers and beauty salons are not automatically closed in Level 3 zones, although other businesses have been asked to close.
However, hairdressers could be closed later if cases increase or do not slow down in these areas.
Hairdressers and beauty salons are considered a lower risk than pubs and bars – which at level 3 must close – as there are fewer households mixing together.
Do gyms have to close?
Under the revised level system, gymnasiums are allowed to remain open at level 3, as are recreational and sports facilities.
But group indoor exercise classes (including fitness and dancing) shouldn’t take place. Saunas and steam rooms must also close.

Can I go to work?
The government has advised anyone who cannot work from home to come to work. The possibility of working from home depends on the nature of the work and the consultations between employees and employers.
It is permitted to enter and exit level 3 areas for business purposes.

Can I meet people outside?
You should not meet anyone outside outside of your home or Support Bubble, unless there are no more than six people and the meeting is taking place in some open space. This includes parks, beaches, countryside, forests, public gardens and playgrounds. You cannot meet in a private garden.
Larger groups can be split up and fined by the police, starting at £ 200 and doubling for each other offense to a maximum of £ 6,400.
Can I see my partner?
At level 3, people cannot visit other households inside unless they are part of a support bubble. It is at this moment that a household composed of only one adult joins socially and only another household.
Unless your partner is part of your social bubble, level 3 rules don’t allow you to meet inside. You can only meet in open public spaces and need to maintain social distancing outside.

Can stores remain open?
Most stores can stay open as long as they are secured by Covid. Depending on where you live, some additional restrictions are in place.
Can restaurants and pubs remain open?
Level 3 pubs and restaurants are required to offer take-out only.
Restaurants have been asked to close between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., with the exception of reception areas in gas stations and ports.
Businesses that fail to comply with the restrictions face fines of up to £ 10,000.
Customers must wear face masks indoors unless they are seated to eat and drink. You should put your face back on when you have finished eating or drinking. Expect staff to wear face masks as well.
The government advises that someone in your group either provide contact details to the site or register using the NHS Covid-19 app.
