UK Snooker Championship 2020: Judd Trump to play Neil Robertson in final

Appointment: Sunday 6 December Lieu: Marshall Arena, Milton Keynes
Blanket: Watch live on BBC TV, BBC iPlayer, BBC Red Button, BBC Sport website and BBC Sport app.

World number one Judd Trump beat China’s Lu Ning 6-2 to stage a tantalizing British Championship final against Australia’s Neil Robertson.

England Trump, 31, won the trophy nine years ago and clashes with Robertson, who won in 2013 and 2015.

Robertson pulled off three superb centuries and two half centuries in a compelling 6-2 victory over China’s Zhou Yuelong.

Sunday’s best-of-19 final will take place at Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes, with the winner collecting £ 200,000.

Two of the season’s fit players will meet in a rehearsal of the October English Open final, which Trump won in a decisive setting. His incredible run shows no signs of slowing down, with this latest win extending his winning streak to 14 matches.

In addition to this unforgettable encounter, Trump also won the Northern Irish Open this season and was a defeated Championship League finalist.

Much like his performances throughout this tournament, Trump didn’t fully shoot but made crucial contributions to win frames of 66, 107, 97, 54 and 55, finishing on a high with a break of 113.

He was also on for a maximum 147 break in the fourth frame, but excruciatingly missed the 13th black by dropping it from the corner pocket.

More soon.
