We had heard the rumblings so we knew it was going to happen. And yet when Love glory and beauty’s Liam told Steffy he “never liked her” and went to kiss her, we screamed on the TV. There might also have been some flying remotes, mainly because we knew it wasn’t going to end with a kiss.
It never works with this guy.
Frankly, we don’t expect better from Liam. We’ve seen him perform the exact same ping-pong routine before. Sometimes it would bounce between Hope and Steffy; others it was between Ivy and Hope. If he decided to go into the fashion business, he would operate under the House of Waffle banner.

But Steffy? She knows better, or at least should. We had seen real progress as far as it was concerned. Of course, she refused to take that damn picture of herself and Liam on the wall – insisting she keep it there for Kelly’s sake – but she had at least opened up to the possibility of love with the handsome Dr Finn.
Then came Liam with his half declaration of love and thirsty lips.
At this point, maybe we should just put up our hands and say, “Steffy and Liam deserve each other. We can crown them king and queen of bad decisions and then send them to the Isle of Boinkberries where Thomas and Brooke had a few happy days not too long ago.
What is downright angry is that by bringing Steffy and Liam back into each other’s arms, the show essentially ruined both characters. Everything that led to the kiss was frustratingly illogical. To recap: Liam saw Thomas kissing a model and mistakenly believed it was Hope. Rather than barging in and saying, “What’s going on here?” he ran to ex-wife Steffy, told her what he saw, kinda-sort of said maybe he didn’t have it yet do not love her and then went for a kiss… that wasn’t rejected.

We discussed some of the frustrating things about this in a recent Soapbox column, including how it doesn’t make sense for Liam – who thinks Thomas is both dangerous and mentally unhinged – to let his woman in this situation. Worse still, for him, running to Steffy before even discussing what he allegedly witnessed with Hope shows that he has neither faith nor respect for his wife.
Then there’s the fact that it’s a well the show has flipped over so often that it’s no longer entertaining. How the hell are viewers supposed to invest in a relationship involving Liam, who seems unable to truly engage with a woman in any meaningful way? When in a few days he realizes that Thomas was making do with a piece of plastic, what are we as viewers supposed to be hoping for? That Liam abandon Steffy again, who he’s hurt so badly in the past? That he go back to a woman he clearly doesn’t trust?
And what about Steffy? Does this prove that she never passed Liam and never will? This Finn was nothing more than an attempt to distract himself until the inevitable day when Liam threw himself into his general management again, for that long?
So what do you say, Bold and Beautiful fans? Are you as frustrated as we are with this development? Or do you think Liam and Steffy are just proving they really should be late in the game?
