Tayshia and Zac are engaged

Tayshia Adams is engaged to Zac Clark.

It wasn’t yet the most dramatic season of “The Bachelorette,” but season 16 was by far the most authentic.

In the second part of the final, Tayshia did something few drivers had done before: lean on her suitors during the tough times and let them carry her across the finish line. As a proposal drew closer, Tayshia’s worst fears, her previous divorce, could not be ignored.

It was that moment of self-doubt that solidified Zac would be there for her, no matter what.

I will not lie, I cried during the proposal.

Here’s how Tayshia and Zac Clark got together in “The Bachelorette” finale.

Tayshia thought the penultimate rose ceremony would be easy: she had two roses, one for Zac and one for Ivan. But Ben, whom she had sent home the week before, showed up to profess his love for her.

Tayshia, annoyed that Ben dropped that bomb on her too late, allowed her to stay for the rose ceremony. And then they shared one of the most passionate kisses I’ve ever seen.

The rose ceremony

Tayshia quickly got to work, pulling Ivan away from the other guys. “There are some things that have caused concern,” she told him. During their nightly date, they discussed religion (Tayshia is Christian, Ivan’s faith is unknown) and Tayshia realized that they couldn’t make a life together. Zac and Ben both had roses. Hello to our last two.

Ben meets the family

His father, Desmond, his mother, Rosario, and brothers Brice and Desmond Jr. came to Palm Springs to help him make his big decision.

Desmond was stunned that Ben was sent home but returned. Over a drink, Ben joked about getting dumped by Tayshia, as Rosario raised eyebrows. “I don’t want you to work so hard to get someone on the same page as you,” Desmond told his daughter in a private conversation.

Separately, Ben told his mom and dad how much he loved their daughter and why he wanted to be in his life. “He really recognized where he went wrong and how he could have done better,” Desmond said, appearing to approve of Ben.

Tayshia has been sold. “I started to fall in love with Ben again,” she said.

Zac meets the family

Zac told Rosario that he was in love with his daughter and that Tayshia loved her back. He also revealed that he can’t wait to start a family with her.

Like Tayshia, Zac was previously married, which he made no secret of Desmond. “I don’t want this to be a test, I don’t want you to fly it and see if you can make it work,” he told Zac. “I can’t wait to help each other in these difficult times,” Zac assured him.

“I love Zac, he’s a good man. Just seeing another man fall in love with my daughter, the way he was expressing himself, made me feel comfortable, ”Desmond told the cameras after the meeting.

“Zac seems very honest and caring, the chemistry was actually something that I noticed,” Rosario said.

Breakfast with Desmond

The next morning, her father stopped at Tayshia’s villa. “Frankly, I’m worried, I’ve seen you suffer before,” he told his daughter, speaking of Tayshia’s divorce. Both guys were doing perfectly fine, but rushing for a commitment was not. “You could make the biggest mistake of your life,” he warned, giving the producers the perfect sonic touch.

Zac’s last date

The conversation with Tayshia’s father overwhelmed her as Zac had promised her he was ready to propose. The couple headed to a dance class, where they learned a proper first dance for a wedding. She couldn’t let go of her worries, but Zac helped her have fun throughout the lesson.

At night, Tayshia let go of her anxieties. What if something changes and Zac doesn’t want her anymore? He assured her that whatever happens, he’s not going anywhere.

Ben’s last date

“I know what my heart wants, and it’s not Ben,” she told the cameras, before they were supposed to go on their last date. Sitting with him in his house, she told him that his heart was with someone else.

“I was delighted to be back, I was really hopeful that we would be together,” he said. “When you love someone, you want them to be happy.” It was his second break with Tayshia, and no less devastating than the first. “I lost a very good thing,” he told the cameras. “Our life would have been so beautiful.”

Chris Harrison meets Tayshia before getting engaged.
The big shipment.

Zac chose an emerald-cut Neil Lane ring to offer Tayshia.

Even though she knew the man of her dreams was waiting for her with a ring, Tayshia began to have doubts, crying with excitement and nervousness. Chris Harrison left her with a hug and an “I love you”.

As Zac approached the altar, Tayshia greeted him with a small laugh. “The first conversation we ever had near our fountain, we talked about how everything is going for a reason. I came here because I was supposed to meet you, I came here because I was supposed to fall in love with you, ”Zac told him. “Nothing has ever felt so good in my life. I love you Tayshia. We talked about the importance of loyalty and I will always be loyal to you.

Tayshia responded in kind. “I know I told you I love you, but it’s more than that. It’s this wild, savage love that I tried to find with so many reasons not to believe, and you really made me believe that there weren’t necessarily any flaws, and that I deserve the love with a man who won`t run away. I love you Zac Clark.

Tayshia was sobbing as Zac knelt down. She whispered a resounding “yes”, before they collapsed into each other’s arms.

Of course, it wasn’t official until Zac accepted the last rose from her. They both left at sunset in a fake cab, heading for New York.
