“Ridiculous” commentary by Jurgen Klopp who comes back to haunt Frank Lampard

Frank Lampard called Jurgen Klopp’s attempt at mind games “ridiculous” this week.
But it looks like the Liverpool manager’s words have come back to haunt Lampard after Chelsea lost 2-1 to Wolves on Tuesday night.

Klopp has suggested Chelsea are the favorites to win the Premier League this season following their 3-1 win over newly promoted Leeds.

He praised the depth of Lampard’s “incredible” squad at Stamford Bridge after Chelsea’s extravagant summer spending spree.

Lampard responded to the suggestion that the Blues are in charge, saying: “It’s a long season. If that makes some people who talk about us winning the league say we have the best team in the league, ridiculous stuff.

“Midfielders who have won league titles everywhere, experienced people who have won it and champions leagues.

“We have them, we have them, but we also have young players and as a team we are not there. If you ask me in a few years and I’m still around and we’ve won a few leagues, I would say yes. But for now, people want to watch our team and talk about it. ”

But it looks like Klopp’s mind games may have gotten the better of Lampard as Chelsea have lost two games on the rebound since the comments were made.

Chelsea lost 1-0 to Everton at the weekend before being defeated by Wolves at Molineux on Tuesday night.

Les Bleus remain three points ahead of league leaders Tottenham, but Jose Mourinho’s men have a game in hand against Liverpool.
