Red Deer now with 269 active COVID-19 cases

Alberta reported 10 more deaths from the novel coronavirus on Wednesday, bringing the total to 561.

Red Deer has seen its number of active cases increase from 12 to 269. Recovered cases are 11 to 367 as the city’s total number of cases has increased by 23 to 636.

Red Deer County has 78 active cases, an increase of five, while Sylvan Lake added one to sit with 65.

Lacombe County now has 47 active cases, an increase of one, while Lacombe has remained stable at 39.

Ponoka County saw its number of active cases drop from 222 on Tuesday to 176 on Wednesday, a drop from 46.

Clearwater County (Rocky Mountain House) added one active case for a total of 39.

Mountain View County remained stable with 18 active cases, Olds remained with 23, Kneehill County dropped one to sit with 11 active cases Starland County added one to sit with five. Stettler County remained stable at 13.

There are now 1,226 active cases in the central area and 36 hospitalizations, including four in the ICU. The area has recorded 17 deaths, with a man in his 90s linked to the outbreak at Seasons Camrose senior citizen facility. The case included comorbidities.
