“They’re starting to see the health care system overwhelmed, and I think there are people out there who hear the misinformation and the conspiracy theories, and they’re very, very puzzling right now because the reality is that we have to support health workers who try to keep people alive and not listen to some of the misinformation and conspiracy theories that are going around.


Friesen, in an interview, said the $ 2,800 fine he received earlier this month and other such fines for violating public health orders “were not worth the paper on which they were written.

“There’s what we call the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, which protects our right to assemble peacefully, and of course it’s 100% against that,” he said.

According to the Saskatchewan Public Health Act, “A medical officer of health may order a person to take or refrain from taking any specified action in the order that the medical officer of health considers necessary to reduce or eliminate a risk. for health presented by a communicable disease. Friesen said he doesn’t believe the provincial government has proven public health orders are necessary, especially when it comes to outdoor gatherings such as recent gatherings.

On Thursday, the maximum size of an outdoor gathering under the provincial public health ordinance was reduced to 10 out of 30 people.
