Good Morning Britain welcomes Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid shocked viewers by announcing a sudden break from the show.
The couple, who had just briefed Robert Jenrick on the government’s plans for home mixing at Christmas, ended an interview with Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel-Horwood when, after wishing him a Merry Christmas, Piers told viewers, “We’re back on Christmas Day! See you soon! ”

As well as being surprised by the sudden departure of Piers and Susanna, other fans of the show were surprised that they will be on TV on Christmas Day, which had not happened before.

However, as was announced last month and has been teased in a number of announcements over the past week, there will be a huge premiere this year when Good Morning Britain airs a special festive episode on Christmas Day.

It will be the first of a trio of back-to-back Christmas specials, followed by Lorraine and This Morning with Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, having also been missing this week and replaced by Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford.

However, while Piers has told GMB viewers that he and Susanna will be “back on Christmas Day,” there will be a huge difference because, unlike their usual changes on the ITV show, they will not be broadcasting live. in the country, with the special festive a pre-recorded episode.

Wishing them good luck, one avid fan tweeted, “Have a fabulous time of Christmas and New Years Eve Susanna, Piers. You both make the best of GMB on the morning TV. ”

Speaking about the big premiere for the channel, Phillip, Piers’ colleague at ITV, said, “What an absolute honor to be in people’s living rooms on Christmas Day.

“We’ve never done this before, so being part of another ‘premiere’ for the show is very exciting for us.

“This special two hour show will have plenty to do for the whole family throughout the morning… and I’m sure Holly and I will have the opportunity to enjoy a festive drink too! ”
