Ontario Reports 1,723 New COVID-19 Cases and 35 New Deaths Wednesday


Ontario will report 1,723 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, an increase from 1,707 cases the day before.
There are also 35 more deaths, one of the highest totals recorded last week.

The government says 3,698 people have died from the coronavirus so far.

Most of the new cases reported today are in Peel Region (500), followed by the City of Toronto (410) and York Region (196).

The province says it has performed 44,226 tests since the last daily report.

A total of 656 people are hospitalized in Ontario due to COVID-19, including 183 in intensive care.

The province also reports that 106 people are on ventilators at the hospital.

The latest figures bring the total of COVID-19 cases in Ontario to 119,922 and 101,698 resolved cases.
